Monday

G.E.R.D

I haven't been to my doctor since June of 2002, which was a month before my knee surgery, so I've been to a doctor, but not my regular doctor. Anyway Saturday night after we got back from FDRs house we had some Chinese food. It was tasty, but it was late nearly 10pm. Ani went to sleep, I said I'll put the food away. I continued noshing on the fried rice and jumbo shrimp.

A few hours later I tried to go to bed. There was this horrible heartburn feeling in my chest. There were no chest pains, or numbness, but I was sure something bad was going on. Not wanting to freak out Ani, I went to the man room and went online. I was checking out symptoms of heart attack. One of them was panicked sweat, which I didn't have until I read that. I was just about to call an ambulance when I took a few deep breaths and felt better. I had to go to the doctor on Monday.

I called for an appointment and they could fit me in at 5. So after futzing around all day. I head over to the office. I describe my symptoms and the doctor said he was just about sure it was GERD (Gastroesophagal Reflux Disease) and not a heart attack. But we would do some testing to be on the safe side. My blood pressure was 138/90 which is not my regular 120/80 but much better than the crappy machine at CVS said earlier in the day.

My lung capacity, is better than 99% of the population who take that particular test. And my EKG came out good, my heart rate was a little high, but that was because I was a little nervous, but other than that no irregularities. They took some blood, I have to take some tests for the GERD, and take some medicines, but all in all its ok. And I feel very relieved. I will now take it out on my opponents in NFL2k5.
